Pajama Jeans Styled My Way

A while back I came across PajamaJeans on an infomercial.  I did laugh some because of it's cheesiness but was intrigued with the idea.  At Willows we sell jeggings (jean and legging combo) like most clothing stores right now.  It's a current trend I love.  Anyway, the idea of a woman riding a bike while wearing PajamaJeans cracked me up.
I do like a challenge and thought why not order a pair and see if I could style them to wear out to dinner with my husband.  I ordered them a month and a half ago and just received them 4 days ago.  I almost forgot about them and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived.  Oh, what to do with them.
My husband got the privilege of photographing my back side and I did a lot of editing (ha, ha).  The fabric is definitely not your premium denim and as you can see in the second photo it's really not flattering.  I'm almost 5'9'' so the length was a bit too short to wear with heels.  Maybe a nice ballet flat would work better.
As far as the comfort level, I rate them a 10 for sure.  The fabric stretched nicely and really felt like I could sleep in them.  As the day stretched on, so did the pants.  I would definitely size down.  Sweatpants are what they remind me of.  If you are looking for stylish jeans to dress up, I'm not sure if these are what you're looking for.  My husband was surprised I wore them to dinner (Five Guys).  Oh, I wore them all right, with my favorite Alternative Apparel sweatshirt and Sperry boat shoes.  Yes, PajamaJeans are the perfect pant for going out for a casual dinner or possibly taking a bike ride with the kids.  It's getting late, do I dare wear them to bed?

Cute pink detail and drawstring waste.

Featherlocks at Studio 162: My New Spring Hair Accessory

The Featherlocks are 6 for $50 and $6 per extra feather.  I have 4 on one side and 2 on the other.
The colors I picked

I highly recommend Studio 162
360.944.7288
I had a very full "Mommy" list today.  However, a little shift in plans, and now I have feathers in my hair, which make me quite happy.  I dropped my oldest daughter off at school and took  my youngest to a tea party at her preschool.  Once I ate a couple of yummy scones, made a pretty paper hat and sang at chapel, I was able to change my blue, flowery hat for my fuzzy, charcoal one for running.
Upon leaving preschool, a quick text to Wendy and we were able to get a short 5 mile run in before I had to pick Ava back up.  It was freezing cold this morning.  My lungs hurt until mile 3 and once we were done, my ears ached.  While on the run, Wendy started talking about these cool feathers her daughter wore in her hair to a dance last weekend.  I remembered seeing pictures on Facebook and how pretty they looked with her dress.  My mind started thinking and thought maybe I need a new, Spring accessory.  So, I made another item on my TO-DO list and scheduled my appt. at  Studio 162

Sweating profusely, I jumped in the car, grabbed Ava and drove home.  I had an hour to make lunch, take a shower and be at the salon.  By the way, Wendy is not only my friend and running buddy, she is also my one and only hair colorist.  She's colored my hair for almost 20 years and really is the BEST at color.    When I ran upstairs to get Ava, she was in her bed watching a movie with of course no shoes.  "GET YOUR SHOES ON, WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE!"  Never expect your 5 year old to HURRY.  Plus, Lucy our bassett hound needed  to go outside before we left.  GREAT.  By the time I made it to Studio 162 I was a few minutes late but not too late.

As you can tell by the pictures, I didn't pick very bold colors.  I wanted something I could match with all my other accessories I wear during the day.  These colors are perfect.  The brightest one is a light aqua color and the rest our white, taupe and brown.

Featherlocks can be styled many ways.  A beach look with wind blown hair, t-shirt, jeans and some aviator sunglasses would be my choice but also can be dramatic with straightened hair and dressed up for a night out.  Try a pony tail, striped tank, jeans and a wedge for a sporty look.  It's the perfect accessory for a vacation.  Why not try it, they can be washed and even curled with a curling iron.

I frantically jumped out of my seat once I was done and said thank you to Wendy.  I was headed out again to see my oldest daugther's skit she was going to be in at school.  We made it on time and was actually glad to sit and relax a little.  I did wonder if anyone had noticed my hair while I was watching.  Guess what, a mom sitting behind me tapped my shoulder and said she couldn't stop staring at my cool hair.  She loved it.  Of course, I had a smile on my face as I was leaving.  Unfortunately, the next stop was the grocery store.

What will I wear tomorrow with my fun new feathers?

DIY Glitter Shoes

Found a pair of $4 Stuart Weitzman heels at  Deja Vu Consignment

The glue, glitter and broken jewelry
Of course I decorated the lid
Poured the glitter on in sections and let dry
Excess glitter put back into measuring glass to use again
dismantled the jewelry to decide which pieces I would use
Wish I was Martha Stewart
The flower pieces were taken off a necklace
Shall we dance?

I REALLY have this fascination with GLITTER.  My collection
is growing rather quickly.   Last week I scouted for a pair of shoes to GLAM UP.  My thought was not to spend too much because I had know idea what the finish product would be.  A size 6 aa was what I found in a heel by Stuart Weitzman.  Four dollars was a great deal.  Hannah, my daughter was in luck because they fit her perfectly.  Guess she has a fun pair of dress up shoes to run around the house in.  I'm working on another pair but this time in GOLD.   Here's a sneak peek at them so far.

My $16.99 Vintage Jacket

The PRETTY bag the jacket was packaged in

Jacket was $16.99
My gold bracelets I wear all the time
A few Saturdays ago I had a 30 minute break after leaving work and going to my daughter's soccer game.  My mind needed a little creative spark so I headed to the nearest vintage shop.  Back in the days before I was a buyer for Willows I used to spend hours shopping.  Now I no longer linger for hours.  It doesn't mean I don't enjoy shopping but I've become very good at finding what I like FAST.  The vintage store was a place of new interest for me.  Jackets are my favorite piece of clothing to shop for.  You can wear a solid tee, jeans or trousers and add a great colorful, or textured jacket to make the whole outfit POP.  I styled it fairly simple and would probably add a couple long, gold necklaces and even a scarf.

My Gold NIKE shoes

These beautiful GOLD NIKE tennis shoes were bought for me as a birthday gift about 6 years ago.  Growing up I always loved unique shoes.  In the 4th grade I had a pair of cobalt blue rubber Keds with faux fur on the inside.  Mr. Moss, my teacher always had some funny comment about them.  Anyway, my Nikes really didn't get worn too much.  At the time, I felt they were a little bright but maybe it was because of my huge size 10 foot.   I decided to place them nicely in my closet.  It wasn't until December that I found myself wearing them with my boyfriend jeans and NIKE zip up jacket.   The trend for metallics keep getting stronger every year.  I LOVE gold jewelry and now you can find it everywhere.  Think twice before you get rid of something, you just might be ahead of the trend.

My LA Trip

My mom and I headed down to LA for a Spring/Summer buying trip for Willows.  There's nothing like seeing beautiful bright colors in the showrooms to get you excited for Summer.  Not to mention it was 80 degrees.  I bought a pair of FUN new glasses to try.  What do you think?  Kind of big but somehow I love them.  My jeans from Sold Denim have amazing stretch and are perfect with heels or wedges.

#1 Color for Spring is ..............

Alexandre Herchcovich, s/s11
HONEYSUCKLE
After a VERY rainy day today I'm excited to see this color and am hopeful SPRING will get here.  I can't wait to see this color in stores and also on me.  If you don't wear THIS much color, grab it in a necklace, bracelet, scarf, shoe or handbag.

Will it ever stop raining?
